In 2004, the Folketing (parliament) decided to privatize statutory vehicle testing. The objective of the report is to examine whether the Road Safety and Transport Agency is planning and supervising the vehicle testing in a satisfactory manner after the privatization and thereby contribute to ensure quality testing. Rigsrevisionen took the initiative to the study in January 2008.
Rigsrevisionen has examined whether the privatization of the vehicle test market has had the expected effect, whether all vehicles are tested within the stipulated time, whether the Road Safety and Transport Agency has organized its supervision of the testing in a satisfactory manner, and whether the Ministry of Transport has ensured that the Road Safety and Transport Agency's supervision of the testing is effective.
