The objective of the report was to review progress made by the regions in implementing electronic patient records at Danish hospitals, and assess the degree to which the Ministry of Interior and Health has contributed to furthering the development and dissemination of electronic patient records. Rigsrevisionen has examined progress made by the regions in implementing paperless work processes. Rigsrevisionen has also looked into the extent to which doctors and nurses have access to electronic patient data and the degree to which an electronic notes module and an electronic medicine module are being used in the clinical treatment of patients.
Rigsrevisionen took the initiative to the examination, which was launched in January 2010.
