The purpose of the report is to examine and assess whether staff scheduling in institutions where employees are required to work irregular hours – within the framework of the working hour and working environment regulations - underpin efficient deployment of human resources.
Payroll expenditure is a large item on the government budget and it is therefore essential that government institutions consider economy when rostering. Rigsrevisionen has therefore worked out a cross-cutting report which provides general advice on staff scheduling that government institutions may draw on.
Rigsrevisionen initiated the study in August 2014.
