Every year, Rigsrevisionen audits specific subject matters to determine whether the ministries’ administration complies with applicable rules and regulations and follows the principles of economy, efficiency and effectiveness. The individual audits answer the following questions:
- Is the ministries’ administration of the selected subject matters in compliance with central rules?
- Have the ministries applied the principles of economy, efficiency and effectiveness in their administration of the selected subject matters?
Fifty-one out of 54 compliance and performance audits of the ministries did not disclose any material breaches of the rules or administrative shortcomings. However, three audits within the remit of the Ministry of Taxation disclosed material breaches of the rules and administrative shortcomings.
