The report is about Denmark's development assistance to Tanzania. It provides an account of the results of the development assistance to Tanzania and the challenges facing the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Tanzanian partners when the effect of the assistance is being measured.
Rigsrevisionen has examined whether the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has achieved the objectives set for the development assistance. Rigsrevisionen has also scrutinised the Ministry's guidelines and practice for the implementation of reviews and evaluations. Reviews and evaluations are used by the Ministry to gather information on the results of the assistance and possible adjustments of the assistance.
The report forms part of the preparations for the Public Accounts Committee's visit to Tanzania and Uganda in August 2010. Rigsrevisionen is also, at the request of the Public Accounts Committee, examining various issues concerning the Ministry's evaluation practice.
