This report concerns the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark’s (EIFO) administration of green investments and loans.
The purpose of the study is to assess whether EIFO’s administration of the financing for green purposes is satisfactory. Rigsrevisionen answer the following questions in the report:
- Does EIFO, prior to investments and loans, carry out sufficient assessments of whether the financing contributes to promoting Danish business and have a green and a commercial potential?
- Does EIFO follow up sufficiently on whether investments and loans continue to have a Danish, a green and a commercial potential?
Rigsrevisionen assesses that EIFO’s administration of green investments and loans is not satisfactory. When EIFO invests in funds, EIFO does not provide reasonable assurance that the purposes of the financing are fulfilled. The administration of company investments and loans is better, but still has certain shortcomings. At the same time, follow-up on the green investments is inadequate. The consequence may be that some investments and loans do not contribute to the objectives of promoting Danish business and the green transition.
Rigsrevisionen initiated the study in February 2025.
